

Billie was born June 11, 1928 in Florence, SC. She was the daughter of the late Vestal Harman Cook and Thelma Susan Jordan Cook of Liberty, NC.
Billie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, David R. Cooke, a true gentleman. She was also preceded in death by her son, Sammy N. Castagna., and her grandson, T. Neal Castagna.
Billie is survived by her youngest son, Tony Castagna of Liberty and stepson, Douglas Cooke (Dana) of Raleigh, her grandchildren, Christy Aaron (Nathan) and Courtney Barner (Bruce); 4 great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Nita Castagna, as well as life-long family and friends.
Billie was a sincere person who cared about people. She loved her family and always wanted the best for them. She enjoyed spending time with people. She had a very vibrant and lively personality, was witty, sassy and genuine. She loved with her whole heart!
She was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church and Circle 1. She retired from a dress shop in Dunn where she enjoyed beautiful clothes and helping ladies look their best. Billie was a natural beauty! She took pride in her appearance and never left the house without her lipstick. She was a classic Southern lady in so many ways and will be missed by all who loved her.
There will be a graveside funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, North Carolina.
Memorials in Billie’s honor may be made to Hospice of Alamance County or to any Hospice of your choosing.
