

Alvin Arnold Sirota, a long-time resident of Parkland, Florida, passed away on February 17th, 2023, at the age of 90. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 7th, 1932, to Herman "Hy" Sirota and Sophie Sirota. Later on, he moved to Union, New Jersey, where he raised his family and spent most of his life. He was a beloved member of the community, and his passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends.
Alvin proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from October 1952 until July 1956. Following his service, he became an active member of several organizations, including the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity from the University of Alabama, the Freemasons, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Alvin is survived by his son Brian Sirota and his wife Rocio Sirota, his grandchildren Alex, Brandon, Kevan, Justin, and Jared, as well as his great-grandchildren Valentino and Arabella. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Barry W. Sirota, his wife Barbara Cooper Sirota, and his daughter Cindy Joy Gruenberg.
Services in memory of Alvin will be held on Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at 1pm at Horizon Funeral Services in Lighthouse Point, Florida. His burial will take place in Woodbridge, New Jersey, at the Beth Israel Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his name, or a tree can be planted in Israel in his memory.
Alvin will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a kind and generous friend, and a respected member of the community. His life was characterized by his love for his country, his unwavering commitment to his family, and his deep sense of responsibility to help others. Alvin's passing is a great loss, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
