Edward, or “Eddie” as he was known to all who loved him, was born on November 28, 1949, in Queens, New York, to Marie and Edward Murnane, Sr. He attended H. Frank Carey High School before beginning a lifelong career defined by hard work, skill, and loyalty.
Eddie spent many years in the automotive industry, starting his career as an auto mechanic. In 1979, shortly after moving to Florida, he worked at Reef Buick, where he built lasting friendships and earned a reputation as a dependable and knowledgeable technician. He later joined Ed Morse Chevrolet, where he served as shop foreman, demonstrating leadership and earning the respect of those he worked alongside. Over the years, Eddie continued his automotive career at Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet, where he worked as a shop dispatcher.
In 2002, Eddie transitioned from the automotive world into the boating industry, a change that proved to be a perfect fit. He worked in boat sales with Century Boats, remaining in the marine business for the rest of his professional life. Most recently, Eddie worked as a dockhand at Thunderboat Marina, where he continued to do what he loved—working hands-on and connecting with people.
Eddie was a proud United States Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life he carried with quiet strength and honor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Edward Murnane, Sr., and his sister, Laurie.
Eddie is survived by his sister Donna, his nephew Douglas, and his nieces Jeanne and Colleen, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.
