Wain was born September 7th 1948 in Fort Lauderdale Florida to the late William “Bill” Sanders Sr. and Daisy “Eloise” Sanders. He was second to the youngest of four brother, William “Bill” Sanders Jr. (wife Diane) Jeffrey Sanders Sr. (wife Sandy) and Dennis Sanders.
Wain was educated in Broward County School System where he graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1966 and continued to Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor's degree. Not to forget in his senior year of high school, he was captain of the flying L’s basketball team. Wain enlisted in the National Guard for several years. He then went on to be the top in his career as a Medical Parts salesman with multiple companies.
Wain preceded his beloved wife Cathy (Gettis) Sanders in death January 2021, leaving their only daughter Lindsay Sanders and son from a previous marriage, Xan Sanders.
Wain professed his life to Christ as a young man and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale. The family lived in Coral Springs, Florida, where they were members of the Church by the Glades and then retired to Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
Wain loved to go fishing, especially Chokoloskee, Florida and enjoyed hunting dove, duck and turkey. Wain liked to barbeque (even special steaks on Saturdays for his dogs), cook and entertain family and friends in their home. The family would kid Wain about wearing a dust buster on his hip because he was always cleaning. The family also joked that his favorite thing to do was going grocery shopping at Publix because he was there several times a week maybe several times a day! He was also a true Miami Dolphins Football fan, in fact he named one of his dogs Zach Thomas, he later raised another dog named Diesel.
Wain leaves his loving daughter, Lindsay Sanders and son Xan Sanders, mother in law Lou Gettis, two sister in laws Janis Ratcliffe and Sylvia Jones, one brother in law Michael Gettis (wife Faye), nephews Brian Sanders (wife Tosca), Daryl Sanders (wife Laurie), Jeff Sanders Jr. (wife Tiffany) and niece LeeAnn Tellin, also many grand nieces and nephews to mention.
Wain left and amazing legacy for his family and will be painfully missed by all.
