After graduating from Briarcliff High School, Garret went on to play football at University of Maryland. When he could no longer play on the field, he dedicated his time to coaching and guiding high school athletes through the football recruiting process. Garret spent the remainder of his life in pursuit of knowing God when he came to draw his final breaths in Florida surrounded by the Calvary Ft. Lauderdale community. His infectious laughter, his larger than life personality, and his bear hugs, have left so many people with so many happy memories. A coach, a mentor, a warrior, Garret lived his life to bring happiness and joy to others. With an invested passion for family, friends, football, joy, and the Lord, his effervescent energy created an undeniable and unforgettable presence for everyone he met.
Garret is survived by his parents Deborah and Jan, his sister, Rachel and his dog, Malachi, and now rests peacefully on the wings of eternity with his grandmothers Gilda and Louise, and grandfathers Marvin and Louis.
A Celebration of Garret's life will be held at Calvary Chapel, Boca Raton, at 12 noon on Saturday May 8th 2021, and will be live streamed for those unable to join in person at www.calvaryftl.org/memorial/ .
