

Stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a finance specialist and was honorably discharged. While stationed at Griffiss, he met his future wife, Lenore D’Aiuto, and they shared 68 years of marriage.
Joe earned an Associate’s degree from Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) in Utica, NY. He was then employed at MVCC and retired as Director of Auxiliary Services. He was designated as an Honorary Employee and Director Emeritus. He was also a longtime, active member of the Rome Lions Club.
Joe and Lenore moved to Lighthouse Point, FL in 1998. He served as president of his Lighthouse Point Gardens North condominium board; enjoyed volunteering at the Lighthouse Point library; and was a member of the Citizen Observer Patrol Program.
He was an avid music lover and enjoyed being a deejay at many parties. He especially loved listening to Frank Sinatra with a generous pour of red wine! Joe enjoyed golfing, and was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants and Buffalo Bills.
Joe is survived by his wife Lenore; daughters Debra Shaver and Dawn DeBuvitz; son-in-law John Shaver; grandson John Clinton Shaver, Jr.; and brother Ed. He is predeceased by his parents, and brother Bill DeBuvitz (Joan Crawford).
