On April 12, 1947, he was born in Brooklyn, New York, to proud parents Elias and Eleanor Bresin. Mark graduated from Baldwin High School in 1964, and later received a degree in engineering from the Academy of Aeronautics. He moved to South Florida in the early 70’s and devoted nearly forty years working for Motorola, specializing in mechanical engineering and tooling manufacturing, where he traveled the around the globe and lived eight years in Hong Kong for Motorola before retiring in 2009. Throughout his life Mark loved many things including giving gifts, good meals with family and friends, traveling, inventing, educating, politics, performing and singing, boating and fishing (mostly catching), cars, collecting quality things, and most of all spending time with his family. We were blessed to learn many life lessons during his seventy-three years. Mark was a worldly man of many words, who always had time for a thoughtful discussion over a range of topics, all of which he was well versed. His graciousness knew no bounds when it came to supporting his family and friends. He never showed up empty handed. Mark could woo you with a song or entertain you with a tale. Mark would listen to your problems and provide guidance, solutions, or acceptance. Mark was ever so proud of his roles as a Grandfather, Father, Father-in-Law, Son, Son-in-Law, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Friend and Gentleman. His roles as such will be forever respected with the fond memories of all he engaged and all who shared his time. He was given the gift of full life and his time to give it back has come. This is hard to accept for all of us. Fret for him not, as now he is at peace and will be able to attend a reunion on the other side with his family and friends that have been waiting to see him.
Mark’s spirit is carried on by his daughters Melissa Bresin and Marci Varca, son-in-law Christopher Varca, brother-in-law Mark Zuckerman, niece Sherry Zuckerman, nephew Sam Zuckerman, as well as his four cherished grandchildren Mia, Macy, Vivian, and Vince. Mark joins his predeceased parents Elias and Eleanor Bresin, and sisters Penny and Sherry.
A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services in Lighthouse Point, Florida.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family has designated the Jewish National Fund JNF Tree Center (https://usa.jnf.org/jnf-tree-planting-center) which will plant a tree in Israel in his honor.
