

Mike grew up in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky with his parents Don and Wilma Weikel. He graduated from Dixie Heights High School and studied aviation at Embry Riddle Aeronautical College in Daytona Beach.
After college, Mike worked for Seta Corporation as the VP of Information Technology and developed life long friendships with colleagues over his 40 year tenure with the company. He was an intelligent, driven, and passionate man who prided himself on his work and service to others.
Mike was a lover of technology, the beach, the magic of the Christmas season and traveling the world. He had to have the latest technology gadget and planned to visit every continent in his lifetime. Mike enjoyed socializing with friends and walking along the beach with his wife and toy poodle Darla. He was happiest when he was surrounded by family, going on an adventure, or planning a surprise for someone he loved.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donald August Weikel and Wilma (Keim) Weikel Austin.
He survived by his wife Patricia (Guzzo) Weikel, two daughters Andrea (Curtis) Blevins and Kimberly (John) Kidd, grandchildren Matthew and Emma Blevins, Kinley and Cooper Kidd as well as step daughters Christy (Ritch) Zuluaga, and Sandy (Rob) Cancel, and step grandchildren Blake and Ian Zuluaga, and Zoey and Ivy Sanges.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 3:30-5:30pm at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services (4650 N. Federal Hwy. Lighthouse Point, FL 33064) with the celebration of life ceremony commencing from 5:30-6:30pm. A light reception will be provided for family and friends.
