Nina Montalbano

Nina was raised by her parents, Louis and Antoinette Durante and shared a lifelong bond with her brother Joseph and sister Mary Lou. Nina was also very close to her extended family and enjoyed the holidays and birthday gatherings where they played music together. Nina was an avid accordion player.

Her cousins and school friends were inseparable and known for simple adventures. Nina was the shy, but loyal one. One outing was to Palisades Amusement Park where she met her first and only date, Richard Montalbano. On November 27, 1955, they married. Together they built a family that remained their greatest pride and purpose. Family was number one to Nina and she was a generous source of love and support to her son Richard, daughter Lori and later son-in-law Michael.

Through the marriage blessings of her brother Joe to Lorraine, sister Mary Lou to Robert and brother-in-law Vincent to Carol, Nina became a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews: Edward, Louis, Christopher, Renee, Christi, Gina, Lisa, VJ, Brian, Robert and Cristin.

Nina built a steady and respected career as an executive secretary in the pharmaceutical and footwear industries, earning the trust of those around her through her loyal and dependable nature. After retirement, Nina and Richard (Richie) bought a condo on the ocean in Hillsboro Beach, FL where Nina found a whole new circle of wonderful friends. They played mahjong, swam in the pool, celebrated birthdays and went out to eat. She cherished all of her friends throughout her life.

Nina found happiness in simple, meaningful pleasures. She loved to read, do puzzles and watch classic and religious TV programs. Along her side was her faithful companion, Sophia, a white Maltese who brought her joy.

A faithful Christian woman in every sense, Nina loved her church, was devoted to daily prayer and gave to many faith-based charities.

Nina leaves behind many dear family and friends and a legacy of steadfast love, quiet strength, and enduring faith. Rest In Peace sweet Nina.
