Richard G Von Behren

Richard G. Von Behren, 77, of Oakland Park, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026. Born on October 27, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Richard carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and faith with him throughout his life.

Richard was the beloved son of Bettie Stewart and Ovian Von Behren. He spent much of his life dedicated to his career, working for 55 years at Baker Distributing, an HVAC company where he was respected for his commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic. His decades of service reflected his pride in providing for his family and doing his work well.

Above all, Richard was a devoted father and grandfather. He is remembered by his children, John Von Behren, Nicole Von Behren, Danielle Umar and Joseph Von Behren. He was a proud grandfather to Amina and Zayd, who brought him great joy.

Richard always maintained a strong connection to his Michigan roots. He was a longtime fan of the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines and enjoyed following all Michigan sports. He rarely missed a game.

A man of faith, Richard valued his relationship with the Lord and carried those beliefs throughout his life. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the many years he spent building a life rooted in responsibility and commitment.
