

The son of Donald R. Waugh and Maida S. Sizer, Rich was born on Long Island, NY.
He is survived by four siblings:
Marilyn Bouldin, Carol Ann Waugh, Robert Waugh and Greg Waugh. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews:
Scott Bouldin, Todd Bouldin, Harrison Waugh, Sophie Waugh, Sam Waugh and Sara Waugh.
Richard Allen Waugh grew up in Carle Place, NY and graduated from Carle Place High School, where he was a member of the varsity golf team and a lifelong New York Yankees fan, he was active in the youth group at the Community Church of East Williston, NY and majored in Psychology at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, later becoming a buyer for a chain of department stores in New York.
In the mid 70's, Rich moved to Colorado, where he enjoyed backpacking, camping and skiing. Rich later moved to Florida, and became manager of the Fort Lauderdale Bridge Club, after attaining the coveted designation of "Life Master" of Duplicate Bridge, directing games and teaching the game of bridge at the Pompano Beach Duplicate Bridge Club for decades. He later started his own bridge club, "Bridge Ace," in Wilton Manors, FLA.
In his spare time, he played golf, to a 6 handicap, and earned his open water scuba diving certification.
In addition to directing on land, Rich taught and directed on over 35 cruises. Bridge enabled him to travel throughout the world: Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Iceland, Greenland and more.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 beginning at 5 p.m. at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 4650 N. Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Rich at ACBL Educational Foundation
