August 1952 – December 2023
Bill was born in Morristown, New Jersey and was raised in Randolph, New Jersey. He attended Randolph High School where he became a championship wrestler and went to college in Tennessee on a wrestling scholarship. After college, Bill served our country by enlisting in the Marines and rising to the rank of First Lieutenant.
After the military, Bill formed “Baxis Roofing” where he took on roofing jobs big and small in New Jersey, later in Staten Island, NY and then in the Delray Beach, FL area. He was honest and particular since he wanted the job to come out right the first time.
Over the last one and half years he battled Chronic Myelo Monocytic Leukemia (CMML). He gave it a good fight through the weekly blood transfusions and chemotherapy that slowed him down in recent months.
Bill had a passion for fishing, wrestling, the Boston Red Sox and ice cream brownie sundaes (his sweet tooth was legendary). He loved his family and was a devoted and loyal friend. You always knew where you stood with Bill and he wouldn’t pull any punches. Bill was a genuine person and had a big heart.
Bill, you will be missed and remembered by those who loved you. May you rest in peace!
