

William Stewart “Stewart” Newbold Jr has passed away at the age of 68 after a short battle with ALS. Stewart was born to William Stewart Newbold, Sr and Darlene Casper in Los Angeles, California on May 2nd, 1953. Stewart lived a rich and rewarding life. Growing up in southern California as the oldest of 10 children, Stewart learned the value of hard work and personal and familial responsibility at an early age. A talented musician, Stewart was admitted into the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA where he trained to become a concert clarinetist, leading him to solo and orchestral performances across the world.
After falling in love with his wife Kathie in New York City, Stewart shifted focus to his growing family. He adored his sons Billy and Brett and daughter Brittany and they were a driving force in his endeavors in the restaurant industry. Stewart’s commitment, and instantly recognizable charisma led to a fulfilling career leading some of the finest restaurants in the country. In addition to his family and professional life, Stewart was an avid road cyclist and loved competing in road bike and triathlon races.
Stewart was preceded in death by his son Billy and survived by his wife Kathie, his son Brett, his daughter Brittany, his son-in-law Bryce Forester and his granddaughter Charlie.
A memorial service and reception will be held on Monday, March 21st, 2022 at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services. The memorial gathering will be from 3:00pm-4:00pm with a memorial service commencing from 4:00pm-5:00pm. The reception will be immediately following the service from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
