Mrs. Alice Louise Dotson Crist

Alice Louise (Dotson) Crist, 86, of Lima, died at 9:30 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Ridge at Shawnee. She was born on April 18, 1923, in Lima, to Byron and Francis (Dasher) Dotson who preceded her in death. On June 5, 1943, she married Vernard C. Crist, who died on July 7, 1998.Mrs. Crist had been a bookkeeper at Roloson Tent and Awning, Lima. She was a charter member of Peace/New Creation Lutheran Church, where she had been the organist for fifteen years. She was a graduate of Lima South High School and the Sherwood Conservatory of Music, Chicago. She was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers' fan, and, was an author, musician and poet.Surviving are 2 daughters: Carol (Jim) Grimm of Maumee and June (Steve) Jackson of Lima; seven grandchildren: Jim (Tosca) Grimm, Jennifer (Gary) Kleinfelter, Andrew Grimm, Allison (Jason Hittle) Garver, Christine (Travis) Heidbreder, Phillip Henderson, Matthew (Stacey) Henderson; and ten great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne (Joe) Garver; a granddaughter, Melissa Henderson; and an infant brother, Byron Richard Dotson.Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 2, at New Creation Lutheran Church, with Pastor Sam Payne officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew’s Cemetery.
