

Alonzo Wheeler, 83 of Ft Wayne, Indiana formerly of Lima, Ohio passed away 3:34 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, February 25, 2014 at his residence in Ft Wayne. He was born on May 12, 1930 in Hariman, Tennessee to Enos J. and Ella (Nance) Wheeler and they preceded him in death. On June 27, 1953, he married Caroline Joan Moening and she survives him.
Mr. Wheeler is also survived by his children: Wes (Penny) Wheeler of Lima, Ivan (Sandy) Wheeler of Lima, Lonnie (Daniello Guieb) Wheeler of Lincoln, CA, Richard (Taka) Wheeler of Elida, Charles (Sue) Wheeler of Elida, Joe (Mark Butler) Wheeler of Ft Wayne and Lyle (Kelly) Wheeler of Lima. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and his siblings: Robert (Martha) Wheeler of Cridersville, Richard (Shirley) Wheeler of Lima and Helen Farrar of Washington D.C. A special friend, Janet Panwar of Ft Wayne, Indiana, also survives him.
Alonzo was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, his brothers, Eugene, Joe, David and George Wheeler and two sisters, Elizabeth Cummings and Gloria Gibsons.
Alonzo had been employed at Warner & Swasey for over 40 years. He was also a member of NFIU as a National Vice President and was also the National Secretary for the NFIU. He was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Masonic Temple for over 50 years. He loved his family very much, his boys were everything to him.
Funeral Services will conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, with military graveside rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1275.
Friends and family may call Thursday, February 27 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday.
