

Bernadine R. “Bernie” Kirian, 81, of Lima, died at 10:55 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Middletown, to Michael and Anna (Moraricky) Presta who preceded her in death. On July 5, 1958, she married Tunison Jack Kirian who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1994.
Mrs. Kirian retired from Shawnee Maplewood School cafeteria, Lima, then worked for Lima Sporting Goods. She was a 1949 graduate of St. John’s School, Middletown and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima. She enjoyed playing BINGO, cards and was a bowler in her younger years. She loved people, especially her family and was the nicest person on earth.
Surviving are two sons: David (Marcia Bell) Kirian of Harrod and Dan (Deb Schmenk) Kirian of Lima; a grandson, Michael Kirian of Lima, and a great-granddaughter arriving in June. She is also survived by her oldest sister, Margaret Warmoth of Middletown.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jack Shaffner, a brother-in-law, Ted Warmoth, and a brothers, John and Michael Presta and Andrew Peresta
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, in St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME, Lima.
