

David Eugene Funk, 64, of Delphos, died at 2:50 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 in Cleveland Clinic. He was born Jan. 28, 1953 in California, to Eugene Edward and Barbara Sue (Fitzpatrick) Funk who both preceded him in death.
His life partner of 36 years, Jason D. Cole and their dog, Lucy Lu, survive David. Also surviving are his siblings: Susan (Harley) Hoover of Marion, Kelly Brinkman of Delphos, Carol (Dennis) Hockett of Troy, Lorrie (Howard) Violet of Delphos, Robin (Carrie) Funk of Waynesfield and Tonia Brassell of Delphos. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews behind.
David was jack-of-all-trades, acquiring many talents and using them in many different opportunities in his life, from California to Florida to New York. He was a very loving son, brother and uncle and was loved equally in return by his family. Never having any children, he performed the father figure role by helping to take care of his siblings, nieces and nephews and his great nieces and great nephews. He was the family weather forecaster and took great pride in his culinary abilities, dining and horticulture expertise.
Services will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at Faith Baptist Church, 4750 East Rd., Elida, with Pastor Tom Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Branch Cemetery, near Waynesfield.
Visitation for David will be from 4-8 on Tuesday at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, Lima and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphos Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice, 602 E. Fifth St., Delphos.
