

Emil Francis Straub, 82, formerly of Lima, died Sunday morning, December 8, at his home in North Ridgeville, Ohio, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 21, 1930 in Montreal, Quebec, to Sebastian and Rose (Eckert) Straub, both of whom preceded him in death. On September 8, 1956, he married Carol T. Verheilig, who survives.
He is also survived by his nine children including James (Amber) Straub of Lima, Robert Straub of Westlake, OH, Marianne (Keith) Altenburger of Gomer, OH, Gerald (Marian) Straub of Lexington, OH, Patricia Straub of North Ridgeville, OH, Kathleen (Stephen) Fickel of Lima, Sharon (Randall) Rothlisberger of Madison, OH, John (Elizabeth) Straub of Cohasset, MA, and Linda (Yvan) Demosthenes of Cincinnati, OH. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a brother, Bernard (Maryanne) Straub of Spring, TX and many nephews and nieces. A brother, William Straub, preceded him in death
Emil was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and Ohio Northern University in Ada. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. As a pharmacist for over 50 years, he worked to promote “the health and welfare of the community.”
Memberships included: St. Charles Borromeo Church in Lima, St. Julie Billiart Church in North Ridgeville, Theta Kappa Phi Fraternity, Lima Noon Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus #2661 in Lima, American Legion Post #198 in Kenton, Northwest Ohio Pharmaceutical Association, West Shore Pharmaceutical Association and the Ohio Pharmacist Association.
A Mass of Resurrection will be scheduled at a later date.
