

George Junior Smith, 86 of Lima, passed away Wednesday morning February 22, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. at Baton Rouge Health Services Community. He was born in Pikesville, KY on June 25, 1925 to Charlie Smith & Celia Bostic Smith Bray and they preceded him in death. On May 25, 1946 in Salina, Ohio he married Kathryn Irene Axe and she passed away on August 7, 1994.
Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Donald Lee (Carol) Smith of Lima, Phyllis (Fred) Bosse of Ada; Ada Toepfer of Delphos, Chris (Jim) Lewis, Kathleen Burden and Georgiana (Paul, Jr) Saffle all of Lima. He is also survived by many grandchildren and many great grandchildren; his siblings, Gracie, Hazel, Alice, Hiram, Frank, Bo and Winfred; and by a daughter-in-law, Patty Smith.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his eldest son, Wade Hiram Smith, a grandson, a great grandson and two sons-in-law, Richard Lee Burden and Robert Lee Toepfer.
George was a laborer with Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton. He was a WW II Navy veteran.
Graveside services will held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery where there will be Military Graveside Rites conducted by VFW Post 1275.
