

Gloria Sue (Lafferty) Hohlbein, 77, of Elida, passed away 5:35 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born on August 16, 1936, in Eastern, Kentucky to Rhomer and Ada (Bradley) Osborne and they preceded her in death. She married Bradis Lafferty on May 4, 1952 and he passed away May 25, 1992. She then married Richard Hohlbein on May 25, 1994 and he survives her in Elida.
Mrs. Hohlbein is survived by two sons: Phillip D. Lafferty of Lancaster, Ohio, Stephen B. (Stephanie) Lafferty of Indian Lake, Ohio; four stepchildren: Carol (Tim) Marshall of Lima, Craig (Tina) Hohlbein of Lima, Joyce (Darrin) Dunlap of Harrod and Darrin (Tracy) Hohlbein of Elida. She also is survived by three grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings: Judy (Billy) Barnett of Martin, Kentucky and Cecil R. Osborne of Nashville, Tennessee; she is also survived by her in-laws: Sally Osborne of Eastern, Kentucky and Karen Osborne of Prestonburg, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Romie Gene (Mary) Osborne, Billy J. (Sue) Osborne, Johnny M. Osborne, Hershel D. Osborne and a sister: Valetta M. (Donald) Halbert.
She has been a member of Lima Baptist Temple since 1963. She was a homemaker. She loved spending her winters in Florida; she enjoyed swimming and dancing, spending times with her family and friends, she was always smiling, she had a wonderful magnetic personality. She brought a little sunshine to all who knew her.
Local funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Lima Baptist Temple with Rev. Gary Hohman officiating. She will then be taken to the Hall Brothers Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky for a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 with Rev. Roy Harlow, officiating. Burial will follow in Osborne Cemetery in Eastern, Kentucky.
Local calling hours for Mrs. Hohlbein will be Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Thursday at the church.
Kentucky calling hours will be Friday, June 27, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Hall Brothers Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky.
