Jane Frances Smith White, 93, of Lima, died at 2:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Cridersville Healthcare Center. She was born Dec. 23, 1920, in Lima, to Harry C. and Louise W. (Sebe) Smith who preceded her in death. On Oct. 26, 1941, she married Marvin E. White who died Sept. 25, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters: Kathleen (David) Kobel of Ft. Myers, FL and Gail (Gary) Zapp of Lima; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her sister, Jo Ann Petropoulos, survives in Kentucky. Two sisters, Mary Louise Peltier and Virginia Arnold, preceded her in death.
Mrs. White was a homemaker, had been a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital, and was employed at Mohler’s Flowers. She was a 1939 graduate of South High School and an OSU fan, especially when they were playing Michigan.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated.
