Joan Hutchinson

Following her graduation from Lima Central High School in 1942 she was employed by the Lima Telephone and Telegraph Company. In July of 1945 she entered her country’s service with the U.S. Navy as a Wave, Seaman First Class. On October 8, 1949 she married Charles H. Hutchinson of Lima, Ohio. As the wife of a Rotarian, she participated in many Rotary functions. As a mother of four children she was active in the PTA of the Lima City Schools and volunteered in several capacities at different Lima Schools. She was a member of the former West Elm United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School Teacher and member of the Women’s Fellowship. She also was a member of the Dilettante Club. Mrs. Hutchinson along with her husband enjoyed many travels abroad with Hutch & Son Electronics.

Mrs. Hutchinson was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, brothers George and Frank Tilley and son Jeffrey Hutchinson. She is survived by her son John Hutchinson, Lima, daughters Sally (Jack) Ulrich of Elida, Suzy (Adam) Biehl, Dublin, Ohio and three granddaughters Katie (Steven) Cox, Betsy (Austin) Ciminillo and Emily Lane.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Hutchinson’s caregiver, Patty Lemaster and St. Rita’s Home Health Care nurses.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
