Kathryn A. Groves

Kathryn A. (Schmidt) Groves, 89, of Lima, died at 10:32 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born Jan. 2, 1924, in Spragueville, Iowa, to John and Katherine (Tebbe) Schmidt who preceded her in death. She married Donald F. Groves and he died April 30, 1972.

Mrs. Groves retired from JCPenney as a salesperson. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Lima, a member of V.F.W. Post 1275 Auxiliary and a lifetime member of St. Rita’s Medical Center Auxiliary.

Surviving are three children: Nancy (David) Beach of Lima, Jane Renner of Dunedin, FL and Richard Groves of Lima; three sisters and seven brothers; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Per Mrs. Groves' request, there will be no services. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Lima Convalescent Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
