

Virgie Golden, 67, of Lima, died Friday, May 11, 2012, in the emergency room of Lima Memorial Health Systems. She was born July 28, 1944, in Salyersville, KY to Edgar and Alkie (Cole) Gibson, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 16, 1979, she married Toby Golden who survives.
Mrs. Golden had been employed at Shawnee Manor, Lima Convalescent Home and Blue Bells in Columbia City, IN. She had been a foster mother for fourteen years.
Also surviving are her children: Alane (Harold) Golden of Lima, Charlene (Mike) Otto of Columbus Grove, Mallissa (Alfred) Smith of Beattyville, KY, Paula (Mike) Eilerman, Dianna Joe (Holmes) Gipson, Darold (Jennifer) Golden, Kristopher Mills, Joey Golden and Bobby Golden all of Lima, Danny Mills of Cleveland, Roger Golden and David Golden both of Lima; 102 foster sons, 23 brothers and sisters, 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons: Ronald Gipson and Timothy Gipson; 3 grandchildren: Chasity Gilbert, Shelby Lynn Smith and Virgie Lynn Boedecker.
Funeral services will begin at Noon, on Tuesday, at Lima Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Terry Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
