

Virginia E. Routson, 85, of Lima, died at 7:52 p.m., Sunday in Lima. She was born on May 22, 1924, in Lima, to Leo and Gertrude (Ayers) Berryhill who preceded her in death. She married Robert L. Routson and they shared 42 years of marriage together, and he survives.Mrs. Routson was the former owner of Buttons and Bows Consignment Shop and loved to sew, make crafts, and most of all shop.Also surviving are two children: Deborah (Larry) Miller of Elida and Carla (Jim) Clemens of Lima; six stepchildren: Mary Ann Wicker of Cromwell, Indiana, Sharon Blackshire of Ligonier, Indiana, Betty (Larry) Martin of Ligonier, Indiana, Vena (Jim) Showalter of Warsaw, Indiana, Donald E. (Janet) Routson of Ligonier, Indiana, and James L. Routson of Macintosh, Florida; six grandchildren: Donna (Ron) Stuttler, Tracy (Dan) Mathias, David (April) Schultz, Kelly (Shane) Newland, Jodi (John) Hartle and Kyle (Crystal) Hancock; 18 stepgrandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 32 step great-grandchildren; sisters: Vanciene Placie and Joann Hemenway both of Lima; half-brothers: Jack (dec’d) (Sharon) Berryhill of Payne, and Jerry (Mary Lou) Berryhill of Statesville, NC.She was preceded in death by a son: Michael Newland; a sister: Wanda V. Kinkle-Winter; a stepfather: Lloyd Carr; and three stepgrandchildren.Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Elida, with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Jenkins officiating and Bob Placie offering the eulogy. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, Lima, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.Memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association.
