Christopher “Chris” Warren MacQueen passed away in Lincoln, California, Feb. 18, 2021 at the age of 62.
He was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on June 15, 1958 to Warren and Delores (Weingartner) MacQueen.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Mary (Wyatt) MacQueen; daughter Kirstie; son Garrison; brother Michael (and Leigh); sister Lisa MacQueen and his father Warren. In addition, he leaves behind many aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother.
His family moved to La Crescenta in Southern California when he was in elementary school. Chris was a 1977 graduate of La Crescenta High.
Chris went to work for WECO Aerospace in Burbank. After meeting his future bride at a company Christmas party, on a blind date, in Lincoln where the firm also had a repair shop. He ended up moving to Lincoln when he married Mary in 1989. He worked for WECO for 30 years.
He then started his pool business, which he had for 13 years. To most everyone Chris was known as “Big Guy” so it was only logical his business be named “Big Guy Pool Service.”
The thing that Chris cherished the most and devoted his life to was family. They meant everything to him. He never missed a chance to be there for his kids and wife. He never missed a sporting event or extra-curricular activity of his kids even visiting them regularly when they left for college. In his free time he loved spending time at home with family and friends. He loved watching his kids grow up and become great young adults.
Even though he never attended Lincoln High, he was arguably one of the Zebras’ biggest fans through his commitment in supporting Mary who is a longtime teacher and activities director.
Chris finished building his family their dream house in the country in 1998, after 2 years of building on nights and weekends.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved camping with his family and friends. His family plans to continue these pastimes in honor of him.
Memorial services are planned for this summer. TBA
