She was born to parents Jesús Burciaga and Estela Pereda on January 2, 1951 in General Galeana del Oro, Durango, México. She came to the United States in 1973.
Elisa is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Cruz Díaz, and her parents. She is survived by her five children Rebeca, René and wife GailAnn, Marycruz, Daniel, and David and her three grandchildren Eliana, Christian, and Samuel.
Elisa enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, telling stories from her impeccable memory, shopping, and playing lotería. She was known for making delicious salsa that family and friends named “Licha’s lightning.” We will miss our mother’s loving and humorous spirit.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on March 12 from 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lincoln. A rosary, funeral mass, and reception will follow at the same location.
