Gary John Rivera passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025 at the age of 80 in Lincoln, CA. Gary is survived by his loving wife Fran of 52 years; his children, Tiffany, Christina, Malia and Natalie; his grandchildren Creedence, Haley, Milton, Quincy, Alex and Emily; and his great-grandson Noah.
Gary was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. He attended St. Philip Catholic Elementary School and Archbishop Riordan High School. As a young man, Gary played both baseball and basketball and his love of sports and competition continued throughout his lifetime.
Gary spent 34 years working in the insurance/finance industry. He was always a top performer due to his knack for sales and ability to build the trust of the people with whom he worked. He always believed in doing the right thing in every aspect of his life, both personally and professionally.
Throughout his life, Gary took an active role in every community that he touched, in too many ways to list. On any given day he could be found working with local organizations, attending church activities or socializing with friends and neighbors.
Gary loved his family above anything else. After that were his love of fishing, golf and Fox News.
Gary’s legacy will carry on forever, reminding us to live each day to the fullest and always keep the faith. He was a long-time cancer survivor who considered his life truly a gift from God. Being given a second chance, Gary cherished every moment and helped others whenever possible.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to everyone who has offered their love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Gary’s honor to the following organizations that were special to him; Shriners Hospitals for Children and Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
