She is preceded in death by her mother, Clara Lou Benedict, and son, Christopher Starr Campos.
She is survived by her father, Jerry Benedict of Lincoln, sister Dana Schwartz (Michael) of Lincoln, children Stephanie Frost (Steve) of Carmichael, Ashley Rutledge (Matthew) of Lincoln, Jared Campos (Madalynn) of Fort Wayne IN, and Haylee Baird-Lira (Nicholas) of Yelm, WA. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Carson & Caleb Qualls, Mattison & Kobe Rutledge, Raegan & Dawson Campos, Everett, Elias, & Emelia Baird-Lira.
Lori grew up in Lincoln, CA, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1979. She was an active member of 4H and played clarinet in the school band. Growing up in Lincoln, she was a cheerleader for Glen Edwards Middle School. Lori graduated from Heald Business College in Sacramento in 1994 with an associate degree in administration. She worked as an administrative professional for multiple construction companies for over 30 years, most recently for Tilton Pacific Construction, where she treasured both her job and the people she worked with.
Lori loved to cook and inherited her love of cooking and baking from her beloved Grandma & Nana. She passed this passion on to her daughters. Her love for coffee and treating her kids to lunch was something she enjoyed sharing with her kids as well. In her free time, she could be found gardening, painting special projects and reading. She also loved attending endless concerts and blasting music throughout her home on any given day. She could be seen dancing around to Carol King or Barry Manilow but also enjoyed the likes of Toby Keith & Brad Paisley. A family favorite is “Living on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, which she requested at weddings & events so that she could dance & sing alongside her children.
Lori was a devoted lifelong mother and loved spending time with her family on various trips to Lake Tahoe, Monterey or visiting her children that lived out of state. She enjoyed binge watching her favorite crime shows or catching her beloved 49ers football games. She especially loved spending time with her family and all the holiday get-togethers she had with her grandchildren. She always enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids various activities throughout the years, from sports to plays.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 7th, 2024, at 10:00 AM and a Funeral Mass immediately following at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lincoln. A reception to immediately follow at St. Joseph Parish Hall, 11:30am-12:30pm, also in Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, should friends & family desire, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation in memory of Lori Ann Benedict.
She loved her family so incredibly much & will be missed every single day.
