May 27, 1933 – March 7, 2022
Sheila Hansen passed away quietly at home last Monday after enjoying a rich and full life. She was born in St. Louis, MO, to Scottish parents, and Sheila remained proud of her Scottish heritage throughout her life. Her father was a diplomat for Great Britain, and Sheila lived for a time in Panama. The family later moved to the Los Angeles area, where Sheila met and, after a year away at the University of Colorado, married her high school sweetheart, Carroll Hansen.
As a young mother, Sheila loved taking her three children to the beach in Santa Monica. The Hansen house became a favorite hang-out for many of her children’s friends. As her own children grew older, Sheila became a realtor in the Brentwood area, and worked with her sister, Moira. She was an avid tennis player and golfer, and she and Carroll loved to socialize and travel.
After retirement, Sheila and Carroll moved to Lincoln Hills, CA, where Sheila continued to enjoy socializing and playing tennis and golf into her 80’s. Faith was important in her life, and she was very active in a Bible study group for many years, both in Los Angeles and Lincoln Hills.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Hansen, and her great-granddaughter Zoe. She is survived by her sister, Moira; her children, Dirk (Jennifer), Tim (Jamie), and Laurie; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Kristina, Luke, Philip, Tim, Kyle, Alex, and Julian; and her great-grandchildren, Nikole, and Skylar.
