

Albert “Jiggs” Scheffert, 86, passed away August 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born January 25, 1929 to Clarence and Lola (Campbell) Scheffert at Roca, NE. He was the youngest of eight siblings. He graduated from Hickman High School and farmed with his brothers until he was drafted to the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He worked for the Lincoln Post Office for 32 years. He met his wife Jane Anderson in 1953 and the rest as we all know, is history. He also sold for Salad Master Cookware and worked for Lincoln Memorial Park as a family service counselor. He loved to golf; spend time with friends and family; and he and Jane traveled the world, several times over. Survivors include his wife, Jane; son, Steven; daughter, Cheryl; grandchildren, James Cagle and Jesse Waits; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George; Ernest; Glen “Jack; LeRoy and Orland; sisters, Lois Egger and Ora Belle Heath; and a daughter Linda Scheffert. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home (6800 S. 14th St.) with interment following at Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire for services. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
