

Barbara, affectionately known as Barb, had a career in the banking industry. She also started a home cleaning business with friends and owned her own bookkeeping business.
Barb met and married the love of her life, Loren, on November 24, 1961. They raised their daughter, Terri, in Lincoln, Nebraska, in their little house on 45th Street.
Barb loved going to the casinos with her girlfriends and enjoyed snowmobiling. She joined her husband Loren's interest in sprint cars and NASCAR. She enjoyed watching golf and loved her cats, with Sam and Abby being her favorites. Loren and Barb traveled together to Hawaii twice, Albany, Wyoming, Yellowstone, and the Black Hills of South Dakota. They were able to drive their snowmobiles up to Mount Rushmore. Barb was nervous about riding motorcycles, but she did it because her husband Loren enjoyed it. Barb fondly called her husband Elmer, and he called her Irma.
Barb is survived by her husband of 64 years, Loren; her daughter, Terri (Steven) Anderson; grandson, Andrew Anderson; granddaughter, Megan Anderson; sister-in-law, Patti Benzing; nephew, Dan; and niece, Cody; niece, Debbie Sherard. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don Benzing.
Memorials to the family are to be designated at a later date.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.
