Betty Jane Scheffert, 93, passed away February 14, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on November 15, 1932, to Oliver and Gladys (Cousins) Anderson, in Lincoln, NE. She met and married her loving husband Albert “Jiggs” Scheffert in 1954.
They loved golfing, playing cards, spending time with family and friends, as well as travelling the world. She was the biggest Husker fan of all!!
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Scheffert; grandchildren, James and Diem Le (Tran) Cagle, Jesse and Lewisa (Walter) Waits; great-grandchildren, Rubie, Athena and Zatanna as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Chrystal Miller, Bob, Dick, Walter, Jack and Donnie Anderson; daughter, Linda Scheffert; and son, Steven “Butler” Scheffert.
A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm, Thursday, February 19, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 20, 2026; both services will take place at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512.
The family requests casual attire for services.
