

Beverly J. (Sehl) Holsing, 89 of Lincoln, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at The Legacy, Lincoln. She was born September 12, 1934, at Beatrice. She attended high school in Beatrice. After high school she worked at a Beatrice bank, until she married.
On April 16, 1952, she married Melvin Holsing at St. Paul Lutheran Church of rural DeWitt. They farmed near DeWitt until 1980 when they moved to Hallam where she and Melvin owned and operated Hallam Grain Co. until 1996. After retiring from the elevator business, Bev began serving lunches at Norris Public and Lincoln Pius X Schools. In 2004 their home was destroyed by the Hallam tornado and they moved to Lincoln. She continued serving meals at the schools and in 2010 started her bakery career at Stauffer’s Pie Shoppe. She found work to be a social event and loved working alongside others. Bev was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she served in the Ladies Circle of Christ. She enjoyed her family, going to the lake and fishing, playing cards with family, neighbors and friends and arranging sleepovers with pancakes for the grandkids.
Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Lambert and husband Dave of Greenwood, NE; Susan Stauffer and husband Thad of Dallas, TX; son Alan Holsing and wife Sheri of DeWitt, NE; daughter-in-law Cindy Holsing of Beatrice NE; grandchildren, Matthew Lambert and wife Dana, April Lambert, Kris Holsing and wife Blaire, Andrew Holsing and wife Alexa, Shelby Bauers and husband Keaton, Haley Perez and husband Jesus, Casey Holsing, Carrie Derickson and husband Pat, two step-grandchildren Kati Stauffer, Sydney Stauffer and fiancée John Machicado; great-grandchildren, Peyton Zaracki and husband Todd, Madison Lambert, Brantley Lambert, Judd Holsing, Ivy Holsing, Brady Holsing, Augusta Holsing, Adelyn Holsing, Elise Derickson, Jace Derickson; great-great grandchild Waylon Zaracki, with 2 more grandchildren due this summer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, parents, George and Ida (Schlake) Sehl, and son, Roger Holsing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 at St. Paul (Soap Creek) Lutheran Church of rural DeWitt, with Pastor Myron Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. A family prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the fellowship room of the church. A memorial has been established to the Church with the elders in charge. Visitation for Bev will be at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home with family meeting friends for visitation on Sunday, March 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is available online at www.lincolnfh.com with Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
