

Carolyn M, Prazak, aged 81, died February 14, 2026. Carolyn was born to Adolph and Agnes (Pospisil) Chrastil on December 19, 1944. She grew up on a farm near Hallam, NE, and then moved to Crete in 1962. After graduating from Crete high School in 1963, she married Frank A. Prazak on April 3, 1965.
Her first employment was an assistant for a local dentist. After moving to Lincoln, she became a commercial pilot and also a flight instructor. She was a member of Whirley Girls Helicopter International. For many years, she worked as a parts manager for General Aviation. Her long-term employment was with the United States Postal Service.
Carolyn was a survivor. She recovered from a horrific ammonia train car explosion in Crete on February 18, 1969. Her steadfast role as caregiver to husband, Frank, who was an MS victim, showed her dedication and selfless role in taking care of his needs in their home.
She was an avid game player. Carolyn enjoyed her trips to wrestle with the one-armed bandits at various casinos. Having lunches and visits with family and friends were her top priorities. She often treated them with her expertly baked kolaches, made with cream cheese filling and TLC.
Carolyn is survived by her sisters Betty Zelenka, Milligan, NE, and Janet Johnson, Lincoln, NE, nine nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Preceded in death by husband, parents, brother and sister-in-law John and Janet Chrastil; brothers-in-law John Zelenka and Mike Johnson; nephew James Zelenka.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE. Visitation one hour prior to services.
