Dayle E. Woods “Woody” 88, died March 27, 2019 at Tabitha Good House. Born June 1, 1930 to Cecil Woods and Irene Copes Woods. After graduating from Honey Creek High School, Dayle began his 24 year enlistment in the Army National Guard in 1949 at the age of 19 for 24 years. He served 16 additional years with the Army Reserves and retired in 1990. Dayle held a lifetime membership to the Elks Club and was a long time member of the American Legion. Dayle was a man who never had enough hours in a day to do all of the things he wanted to do. His love for old cars and working on them drew him to be a member of the Ford Club, Lincoln, NE and long time member of the Chrysler Club, Omaha, NE. Dayle loved to tell stories. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Any time spent with Dayle would include at least one joke. In addition to his cars, he enjoyed writing both stories and poetry. Dayle also built the home he and his wife Clara shared on Rokeby Road. Dayle’s love and dedication to his wife and family was apparent. If he was not with Clara or a family member, any one or many of them were included in his conversations. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Dayle leaves behind wife, Clara of 41 years.
