

Deanna graduated from Northeast High School in 1980. She went on to dedicate her life and career to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 46 years in many fields from the Nebraska State Penitentiary, Nebraska State Board of Nursing, in home private nursing, and Bryan Health Center. Deanna served patients with compassion, patience, and deep understanding. Those who worked with her knew that she brought not only skill, but a genuine kindness and empathy that made people feel seen, heard, and cared for.
In 1996, Deanna married Greg Lloyd. Together they shared many years filled with love, laughter, and family. Deanna was deeply devoted to the people she loved and took great pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Deanna is survived by her husband, Greg Lloyd; her daughters, Amanda (husband Andrew) Herold, Holly Mach, and Emily Mach; and her stepsons, Jeremy (wife Serena) Lloyd and Billy (wife Christina) Lloyd. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Connor Kapke, Shea and Ryker Lloyd, Bryson Herold, Savannah and Noah Lloyd, and she was overjoyed to be a great-grandmother to River Kapke.
She is also survived by her brother, Bill (wife Karen) Westover; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Deanna had a remarkable ability to make people laugh. Her quick wit, playful humor, and joyful spirit could brighten any room. She loved making others smile and had a special gift for lifting people up when they needed it most. Whether through a joke, a story, or simply her warm presence, Deanna had a way of bringing light into people’s lives. More than anything, Deanna loved people. She cared for others with a selfless and generous heart, always putting those around her first. Over the years, she built deep connections with people from many different walks of life. Through her work, her friendships, and her family, she brought together many different communities and groups of people who might never have crossed paths otherwise. The countless lives she touched are a testament to the kindness, compassion, and love she shared so freely.
Deanna will be remembered for her laughter, her strength, her giving heart, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and valued. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and through the many people whose lives were made better simply by knowing her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Services:
In honor of Deanna’s wishes, there will not be a traditional funeral service. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held on March 14th from 1-4pm (service at 2pm) at the American Legion Hall in Bennet, Nebraska, 970 Monroe Street, Bennet, NE 68317, where Deanna lived and raised her family.
Her wish was for people to come together, share stories, laugh, and celebrate the memories and connections that meant so much to her.
