Dennis William Donner

Denny was born in Yankton, SD on September 23, 1947 to Raymond and Mercedes Donner of Crofton, Nebraska. Denny was raised on his family farm until graduation from high school. He attended Wayne State College for one semester. He later enrolled at the University of Nebraska where he earned his B.A. in finances.

He established his career at The Nebraska Department of Revenue as an economist. He worked for the Property Tax division until his retirement in 2015. He had many fond memories working with some of the State Senators through the years.

Denny loved camping and fishing with his family in the earlier years. Most of all he loved to hunt elk in Wyoming near Cody. His sister Janice and her husband Ed were the perfect hosts for Denny and his family in Cody.

His greatest love and joy were his grandchildren. He spoiled them to a fault.

Denny is survived by his wife Carolyn (Gedwillo) Donner; daughters Angela Odgaard; Lisa Donner; sons Timothy (Dr. Sarah) Donner and Michael Donner, all of Lincoln; sisters Laverta Christensen of Sioux Falls, SD; Janice (Ed) Stratman of Cody WY; Charleen (Keith) Buschkamp of Crofton, NE; sister-in-law Linda Donner of Elkhorn, NE; brother-in-law, Thomas Gedwillo of Lincoln; and sister-in-law, Mary Bumann-Gedwillo of Bryan College Station, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren; Drew Alese Odgaard; Alex Justine Odgaard; John William Donner; Benjamin Robert Donner and Gianna Catherine Donner; and special longtime friends, Fern and Warren Spencer and Bill and Susan Peters.

Denny was preceded in death by his brothers: Melvin Donner; and Joseph Donner; parents; grandparents, brother-in-law J. David Gedwillo, father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Gretchen Gedwillo
