Eldon John Diedrichs was born in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Eldo and Irene Diedrichs on March 15, 1949. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1967 and later attended Ohio State University in 1971. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970. He married Karen Adams on October 6, 1984 in Rejoice in the Lord church in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was involved in prison ministry as an assistant chaplain from 1986 until 1988 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He worked as a firefighter for the City of Beatrice Fire Department for a number of years until moving on to the State of Nebraska Department of Labor, working in the OSHA consultation department. He retired as the manager of this department in 2018 after 33 years of service.
Eldon John Diedrichs is preceded in death by, his grandparents Henry and Tena Diedrichs and Martin and Fenke Alberts; parents, Eldo John Henry and Irene Rosa Diedrichs; sister, Priscilla Berniece Diedrichs, and brother-in-law, Dennis Hohbein.
Eldon John Diedrichs is survived by, his wife of 38 years, Karen Diedrichs; three children, Christine Richtig and her husband Joe Richtig of Puyallup, Washington, Aaron Diedrichs of Beatrice, Nebraska and Caleb Diedrichs of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister, Eileen Rose Hohbein and grandchildren, Bryan and Matthew Richtig, Elijah, and Maximus Diedrichs.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 5 pm for immediate family followed by family and friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral home located at 6800 S 14th Street, Lincoln, NE. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 2 pm at the same location. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
