

Ellen C. Loos of Lincoln passed away quietly on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the age of 89. She was born to Margaret (Barry) and Warren Hanson on April 27, 1927 in College View, Nebraska. Her family moved to the Scottsbluff, Nebraska area when she was a young girl and it was there she married Reuben Loos after his return from WW II. They had two sons while farming near Henry, Nebraska until the late 1950’s when they moved to Lincoln for employment. Ellen held several jobs during her career in Lincoln, including Nebraska Penitentiary Guard and positions with Lincoln Public Schools. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. Ellen is survived by her sons and their wives, Wes and Jodi, Rod and Jeane, brother, Richard Hanson, 6 grandchildren, Chris (Katherine), Cameron (Amanda), Jaime (Thomas), Shawn, Bryan (Carrie), Josh (Amanda), and 12 great-grandchildren, Henry, Samantha, Dalton, Dylan, Madison, Kaylee, Kolton, Tanner, Gavin, Millie, Phoebe and Tytus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben, 4 brothers, and one great-grandson. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S.14th Street, Lincoln. The family will receive friends from 2:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Research.
