With heavy hearts, the family of Elvira L. (Vi) Beisner aged 92, announces her passing on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025. Vi was born in Lincoln, NE to Ralph & Elvira C. Whyman on April 23, 1933. Vi married R. Albert Beisner in 1951. They were married 37 years until his death in 1988. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother whose unwavering love and strength shaped the lives of everyone who knew her.
Vi had a servant’s heart and was always busy helping family, friends, and the community in many different capacities. Vi enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking and treasured spending time with her nine siblings (all predeceasing her) and family. Vi had the gift of gab and loved family gatherings as well as starting up conversations with all who crossed her path. She never met a stranger.
Vi had an independent spirit and a can-do attitude. In her later years, she learned to use a computer so she could connect with family and friends via Facebook and email. And at age 88, she was determined to renew her driver’s license and drove to the DMV despite her increasing health issues and got her license! However, as her health deteriorated, she recognized that she had to give up driving and many other activities. Vi is a wonderful example of perseverance and patience as it became necessary for her to receive help instead of giving it.
Vi will be missed, but we are thankful that because of her faith in Jesus she is now in His presence and pain free.
Vi is survived by her children, Don Beisner, Lincoln, Barbara Williams (Mark), Valparaiso, FL; Douglas Beisner, Lincoln, her five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Cremation. A graveside service at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
