Erma E. Meyer

Erma Elvira Meyer, age 100, of Weslaco, TX was called home by the Lord on Friday, April 12, 2019. Erma was born November 20, 1918 to William and Frieda Kohlmeier in Oakland, NE and was baptized on December 8 of the same year at St. John Lutheran in rural Lyons, NE.

Erma was confirmed in her faith at St. John on April 9, 1933. Her confirmation verse was “Be though faithful until death and I will give thee a crown of life.” Rev. 2:10

On May 6, 1945 Erma married Eldo H. Meyer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE. Erma and Eldo enjoyed 69 years together until Eldo was called to his eternal home in 2014. They took great pleasure in raising their three sons. Like Eldo, Erma was a person of strong faith and enjoyed serving her church, including teaching Sunday school and confirmation classes. Anyone who knew Erma could vouch that faith and family were most important to her. Erma enjoyed art in various mediums and other hobbies included playing bridge, water sports and fishing with the family.

Erma is survived by sons, William L. Meyer (Judith), David D. Meyer (Marsha) and Thomas E. Meyer (Wanda). She also leaves four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

In addition to Eldo, Erma was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Melissa Meyer, daughter of William and Judith.

The Meyer family extends a special thank you to Ms. Alice Flores of Weslaco for her many years of loving care to both Eldo and Erma.

A Memorial Service for Erma will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th, Lincoln, NE 68512
