Flora Irene Kipper

Flo was born on March 22, 1926 to Jacob & Christina (Kukes) Kolb in Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was raised in the 'north bottoms' area of Lincoln along with her brothers Harry, Art & Jacob.

Matt & Flo were married on November 6, 1948. A few years later, purchased a home in Havelock, and proceeded to fill it with 6 children. They bought Havelock Hardware and worked there together until Matt's sudden passing in 1971.

Flo worked for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, Division of Travel and Tourism from 1979 to 2000, full-time for the first 15 years and part-time for the remainder.

For the last 13 years, Flo lived in California. She didn’t care for the cold Nebraska winters and she loved the California weather so she relocated to live with daughter, Julie, and her family. She was very happy there. Flo would come back to Nebraska to see everyone. She was especially delighted to see her great-grandchildren. They gave her great joy.

Preceded in death by her husband, Matt; son, Mark; and brothers Harry & Jacob.

Survived by sons, Gary and Craig (Janet) Kipper; and daughters, Teri (Steve) Hubka; Colleen (Peter) de Lijser; and Julie Helmuth; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing are her brother Art Kolb; sister-in-law Joan (Jacob) Kolb; brother-in law & sister-in-law Paul & LaRue Kipper; beloved cousin, Eloise Cortese; and special family friends , the ‘McKinney Kids' as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 6700 S. 14th St. Family and friends will meet at Gate 2 before proceeding to the burial site. A light lunch will follow the service at The Urban Farmhouse Room. 3900 Yankee Hill Rd, Suite 127, Lincoln, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Teri Hubka, in care of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
