Frederick Frank Kobza, age 78, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. He was born in Havelock to John William and Lillian Theodora (Madsen) on March 18, 1943. He was one of eight children; four boys and four girls.
His first marriage blessed him with 2 sons, Frederick “Ricky” Frank II and John Travis (Marisa) Kobza.
He married Elvira “Vera” Villegas on December 16, 1980. She brought 3 children to the marriage, Will (Laurie), Lisa (Johnathan), and Deana Reubenking. Together they were blessed with one daughter, Kristina “Krissy” Marie (Mike) Comstock.
Fred lived the majority of his life in Lincoln and is a graduate of Lincoln Northeast High School. He served as active duty military in the US Army from 1964-1966. He finished his military career in the US Army Reserves and National Guard, retiring in 1993. He worked at Goodyear for 34 years before retiring in 2007.
He was always quick with a witty comment, even up until the end. He loved his grandchildren more than anything and prided himself on purchasing the loudest and most obnoxious presents he could find for birthdays and Christmas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Lillian Kobza; brothers, John, Alois “Louie,” and Jerome “Jerry”; sisters, Lillian, Sondra “Barb,” & Sonia.
Fred is survived by his wife, Vera; sister, Sally; sons & daughters-in-law, Ricky, Travis & Marisa Kobza, Will & Laurie Reubenking; daughters and sons-in-law, Krissy & Mike Comstock, Lisa & Jonathan Hamilton and Deana Reubenking. Grandchildren: Savannah, Braden, Riley, Ella, Grant, Brooklynn, Jameson, Ellie, Sierrah, Kylie, Jordan, Logan, Jaxson, Grayson, Ainsley, Maclane, Josh & Dylan. Great grandchildren; Easton, Oliver, Hendrix and Nixon.
Visitation: Thursday, March 17th 2022, 6-8 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 6800 S 14th Street, Lincoln.
Funeral: Friday, March 18th, 2022, 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 640 N 56th Street, Lincoln. The family invites you to join them for a short viewing before the service from 10-10:45 am. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
