Gary E. Hassebrook On February 10, 2017, Gary went to his Heavenly Home after courageously fighting brain cancer. Gary was born October 27, 1948 in Columbus, NE. He graduated from Platte Center High School, attended Norfolk Junior College, and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College. Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who modeled his love for the Lord. He loved his church family and served as an Executive Leader and held many other roles within the church. He enjoyed his job as a real estate appraiser, was a member of the International Right of Way, was an avid golfer, had lots of “dad jokes” and will be missed by many. Survived by mother, Phyllis Hassebrook of Platte Center, NE; wife, Evelyn Hassebrook of Lincoln, NE; children, Lisa (Jeff) Davis of San Tan Valley, AZ, Stacy (Shane) Benton of San Tan Valley, AZ, Kimberly (Will) Teegerstrom of Lincoln, NE, and Chad Hassebrook of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Madrid, Nathan Madrid, Lucille Davis, baby Teegerstrom on the way, and five step-grandchildren. He also had grandchildren adopted through love, Jay Sabin, Matthew Barlay, Austin Bahr, Malayka Horner and baby Watson on the way. Also siblings, Betty (Dale) Langan of Thornton, CO, Rod Hassebrook of Platte Center, NE, Mary (Les) Svatora of Columbus, NE, and Chuck (Kate Borchman) Hassebrook of Lyons, NE and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father, Edward Hassebrook and sister, Vickie Carlson. Memorials suggested to Holt International or Christ Place Church 10,000 Reasons Fund.
