Gene J. Cromwell age 89 of Lincoln, died Monday, February 9, 2015. Born in O’Neill, NE to Oliver G. and Mildred (Hough) Cromwell. Gene was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Lincoln and enjoyed playing cards with the guys at church. In his younger years, he enjoyed golf and was a lifetime avid Husker fan. He also played piano and enjoyed singing and had been active in Moose Lodge installations in Yankton, SD. Gene served his country proudly in the Army Air Corp during WWII in the Philippines. His last employment was with Quest Laboratories for thirteen years, making many friends, retiring in 1999. Preceded in death by his parents; first wife Betty; grandson Ross Scheppy. He is survived by his wife Janice; children Larry (DeeAnn), Sandy (Mike) Anderson, Steven; step-children Tom (Donna) Hilkemeier, Alan (Beverly) Hilkemeier; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral service 11:00AM, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church 1800 S. 84th St. Lincoln, NE. Visitation one hour before the services at church. Private Inurnment.
