Born August 2, 1937
Age 84
My beloved friend and companion passed away peacefully on August 21, 2021. Gregg loved his Nebraska Football team. Win or lose. He was also an avid Seattle Seahawks fan. He couldn't wait for the season to start. Gregg attended Hartley Whittier and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955, also attended the University of Nebraska.
Gregg served as a Marine from 1956 to 1958. He was proud to be a Marine and to be an American. He had many close friends who will miss his witty ways and his love for them. He had a close relationship with his daughter Kim and her family; husband Bill and two grandsons Sean and Ian. His other children are Doug, Kirk, and Debra. Gregg also had a loving relationship with Rosanne's grandchildren: Brandi, Dillon and Devin Benson.
Gregg and Rosanne met in June of 1983, and were constant companions and best friends for over 38 years. They loved to camp out, take fishing trips, and play golf. On special occasions we would go to the casinos for fun and gambling. He also loved horse racing and the outdoors.
You will be remembered by all your friends and family, especially me (Rosanne) who will forever love you. You were my best friend and partner. Thank you for a wonderful life. You will forever be in my heart. Until we meet again - so long for now.
Gregg was preceded in death by his parents George and Sylvia DeWitt, first wife Rosalie, and son in law Chris Benson.
As per his wishes there will be no services. A full military burial will be planned at a later date with close friends and family.
Please send memorials to the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home at 6800 S 14th St. Lincoln, NE 68512.
