Gregory A. Prenosil

Gregory "Greg" A. Prenosil, 74, passed away on March 18, 2026. Born on December 23, 1951, to Edward and Dorothy (Twing) Prenosil. Greg was raised in Lincoln where he graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School and went on to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

On February 9, 2002, Greg married Tracy Shuck-Irons. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter and family, welcoming their daughter, Lily, on September 27, 2003 - one of Greg's greatest joys and proudest roles.

A skilled carpenter and true craftsman, Greg was the owner of Holland Woodworks, where he became known for his custom furniture and cabinetry. To Greg, woodworking was more than a profession—it was an art form. Each piece he created reflected his patience, precision, and pride in his work. His generosity and talent extended beyond his business, as he donated handcrafted furniture and cabinetry to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.

Music was another lifelong passion. From middle school on, Greg played drums and guitar and shared his voice with several local rock bands, including One More Time, Thunderbird and Scanner, Daddy Warbux, and Badge. In recognition of his contributions to the local music scene, he was inducted into the Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame—an honor that reflected both his talent and his love of performing.

Greg was known for his generous spirit and thoughtful nature, often creating homemade wood items and knives as gifts for family and friends. He had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and held a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Cosmo.

Above all, Greg will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the quiet ways he showed up for others - with skillful hands, a giving heart and a steady presence.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Tracy, and daughter, Lily. He is also survived by his sister in, Janet (Daniel) Fraley; nephews Paul Nelson and Nick Fraley; and niece Katie Hopwood.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edward Prenosil Jr.; and his sister, Judy Nelson.
