

Julia will forever be remembered as a kind, patient and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Julia was born in Odell, NE on June 25, 1927 and graduated from Union Center High School, she went on to the University of Nebraska Normal school where she earned a teaching certificate. Julia taught in a one room schoolhouse until she met her husband of 67 years, Edward King. After a brief time on a farm near Blue Springs, NE, Julia and husband moved to Lincoln where Julia worked at American Stores Meatpacking Company for 23 years. After retiring from American Stores, Julia was a paraprofessional for Lincoln Public Schools Transportation Head Start. She thoroughly enjoyed the children and her favorite bus driver Jane Petri. Her last few years were spent at The Lexington Assisted Living Facility where she enjoyed playing cards and scrabble with her friends there. Julia is survived by her daughter Cindy (Tom) Karel of Lincoln, her grandchildren Jenna (Nathan) Fuller, Lisa Karel (friend Austin Corcoran), Barbara Karel, and Joshua (Morgan) Karel and her great-grandchildren David, Ava, and Eden Fuller.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8th from 5 pm – 7 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, May 9th 10:00 am, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Burbank-Williams officiating.
Private family burial preceding the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the family for future designation.
