K. Paul Brigham

The Reverend Kenton Paul Brigham, departed this life on Wednesday March 19th, 2025. He was born on March 1, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas to William and Louise Brigham. He was baptized and came to faith as a young teenager in the 1960’s.

Pastor Paul was first licensed on August 14, 1977 at Trinity Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview, TX in 1979. He was ordained on June 13, 1982 at First Baptist Church in Farwell, TX. In 1983, he earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. In 1992, Paul earned his Clinical Pastoral Education Certificate from Immanuel Medical Center, Omaha, NE.

Paul served as an Evangelist in California in 1982-83. After that, he served as Pastor of numerous congregations in California, Texas, Colorado and Kansas, as well as chaplain at several medical and correctional centers in Nebraska, Iowa, and Colorado. He retired in 2022 from First Baptist in Colby, KS, and moved to Lincoln, NE. In retirement, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends and in his role as an avid sports fan.

Paul is survived by his wife Barbara (Nobbman-Wallschlaeger); her children Steven, Jill & Joel (Najwa) Wallschlaeger; and grandchildren Josiah Wallschlaeger, Nora Wallschlaeger & Julia Wallschlaeger. Other family members include brothers Murray Brigham (Martha), Lane Brigham (Gail), and Bill Brigham, Martha Wallschlaeger, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise and sister-in-law Terry Brigham.

The visitation will be on Thursday, March 27th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life for Paul will be held on Friday, March 28th at 10:00 am. Both will be at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Lincoln, NE 68512. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
